UBC urological science professor Richard Wassersug will give a free talk later this month about how to access trustworthy information about cancer.
The presentation will focus on how to sift through all the information available about the disease, how to deal with contradictory health advice and how to understand the meaning of "breakthroughs in cancer research."
Wassersug spent five years as a scientist in residence with Discovery Channel and appeared on the network's Daily Planet show for a decade.
The public event will be held Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. at Exploration Place. It is being organized by the Prostate Cancer Foundation BC. There is no need to pre-register in order to attend.
On Jan. 29 Wassersug will speak at the regular meeting of the Prince George Prostate Cancer Support Group and will also make a presentation to the BC Cancer Agency Centre for the North as part of his visit.
