The subject of an arrest by the RCMP's emergency response team was sentenced Tuesday to nine months probation after pleading guilty to willfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer.

Concerned he may have been armed with weapons, RCMP sent ERT to a 500-block Alward Street home during the morning of August 11 to arrest Julien Naseem Lazarre, 19.

Fifth Avenue from Wainwright Street to Carney Street and a portion of Alward Street were closed to the public for about three hours.

Lazarre was apprehended without incident and had remained in custody ever since

A count of break and enter to commit an indictable offence was stayed.
