If you were hoping to enjoy a Spring day at the fair with your family, you’re going to have to wait a little bit longer.

The annual Prince George Spring Carnival, put on by West Coast Amusements (WCA), has been cancelled from its May 7 to 10 dates at Exhibition Park.

According to the hosts, COVID-19 has forced cancellations and operations suspended on March 13 as a result of the pandemic.

“The health and safety of our team members and our customers is always our top priority,” says WCA.

“As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to be a concern in Canada, we are receiving increasing numbers of inquiries regarding the steps that WCA is taking when it comes to safety at our events.”

WCA is a B.C.-based, family-owned travelling fair and is said to be the largest national midway operation in all of western Canada.

Each year, the carnival provides rides, games and entertainment for Prince George residents in the CN Centre parking lot.
