Prince George woman hospitalized in violent assault

Police are looking for anyone with video surveillance or dashcam footage to come forward

The Prince George RCMP’s serious crimes unit is investigating a violent assault.

On Thursday, May 4, just after 6 a.m., police responded to a report of an unconscious woman on the 1600-block of Ingledew Street.

“As the investigation progressed, police officers determined the woman was the victim of a violent assault and the Serious Crime Unit was called to take conduct of the investigation. We are now asking for anyone with possible video surveillance or dash camera footage from that area between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. on May 4 to contact police,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media relations officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries. This investigation is in the early stages. Police officers will continue to have a presence on Ingledew Street for several hours.
