A Prince George woman has a brand new bike thanks to the RCMP’s anti-bike theft campaign.

As a part of their efforts to reunite recovered bikes with their owners, the Prince George RCMP detachment held a raffle for everyone who registered their bike on the 529 Garage bike registry app in the last year.

529 Garage is an app where you can register your bike and connect it to a community of over 400 law enforcement agencies, so that if a bike is recovered by law enforcement, it’s easier for the police to return it to the original owner.

Police partnered with a local retailer and bike manufacturer, Cycle World on First Avenue, to raffle off a Norco Storm mountain bike.

Lorrie Taylor, a Prince George resident, won the set of wheels on Nov. 8.

The RCMP also raffled off two high-quality ABUS brand bike locks and the winners were locals Ryan Peel and Lorna Grant.
