Elections Canada data showed the Liberals took the polls in Prince George.

Both elected boys in blue would have gotten the boot if Prince George voters picked their riding's federal representatives.

Conservatives MPs Bob Zimmer and Todd Doherty both came in second as far as the City of Prince George residents were concerned, according to new data from Elections Canada released Monday.

The poll-by-poll breakdown for the 2015 election showed Liberal candidate Tracy Calogheros took the city with 36.4 per cent of the vote, above Doherty's 28.7 per cent. The Prince George-Cariboo MP was close to NDP candidate Trent Derrick's 28.7 per cent, according to the report, which included advanced polling.

Unlike Zimmer's overall landslide win in Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies with more than half the ballots cast, the competition across Doherty's riding was tight. He won Prince George Cariboo with 36.6 per cent of the vote compared to Liberal Tracy Calogheros, who took 31.5 per cent.

But the incumbent Zimmer's supremacy in Prince George was challenged by Liberal candidate Matt Shaw who took 37.5 per cent of the city's ballots compared to Zimmer's 34.5 per cent. NDP Kathie Dickie earned 22.7 per cent of the votes, which include Pineview polls.

Prince George Cariboo brought out 66 per cent of eligible voters in the city while Zimmer's riding got 64 per cent, both below the Canada-wide voter turnout of 68.3 per cent.
