Prince George and Canada both saw slight increases in unemployment last month.
According to numbers released by Stats Canada, Prince George's unemployment rate came in at 4.3 per cent for July, compared to 4.2 in June.
Meanwhile, B.C. saw a slight dip for July in unemployment, finishing at 4.4 per cent, down from 4.5 per cent last month.
Nationally, the Canadian unemployment rate went up from 5.5 per cent in June to 5.7 for July.
Transportation and warehousing fell by 15,000 jobs in July following two months of increases.
Most of the decline was from B.C., Ontario, and Manitoba.
Natural resources also took a hit nationally, with 8,700 fewer employees in the workforce.
Most of the decline came from our provincial neighbours in Alberta.
The wholesale industry also saw a decline for the second month in a row, down by 21,000 jobs last month but year-over-year basis, the industry grew by 48,000 jobs.
