Prince George trafficking suspects turn selves in to police

Subjects of major drug investigation, Derek Timmins, Garth Goodkey, and Daniel Wilson, "arrested and released"

Three local men facing charges from a major trafficking investigation are no longer at large.

Derek Timmins, Garth Goodkey, and Daniel Wilson have been "arrested and released" after each turned themselves into Prince George RCMP at various times over the weekend, B.C. Combined Forces Special Investigation Unit Staff Sgt. Lindsay Houghton said in a statement issued Tuesday.

Warrants for their arrests were issued last week after Crown counsel approved charges against the three in connection with an investigation that led to a seizure of 1.7 kilograms of cocaine and 958 cannabis plants in February 2021.

Police have alleged links between the suspects and full-patch Hells Angels members. Wilson and Timmins have been charged with commission of an offence for a criminal organization. Wilson also faces a count of conspiring to commit and indictable offence.

Timmins and Goodkey also face one count each of trafficking in a controlled substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Wilson a count of possession for the purpose of distribution under the Cannabis Act.

Police also seized 29 guns plus ammunition and Goodkey faces three counts of trafficking in firearms in relation to a prohibited semi-automatic rifle, two prohibited high-capacity magazines and a non-restricted semi-automatic rifle, plus a count of possessing a firearm without a licence or registration and Wilson a count of careless use or storage of a firearm.

Some $40,000 in cash, three trucks, a ring worth more than $100,000 and a money counter and more than 3,000 pills of various types were also seized, police have said.

Three properties and the diamond ring linked to the investigation have also become the subject of a civil forfeiture proceeding.

Dates for appearances in court on the criminal counts have not yet been set.
