Have you ever had the best idea for a podcast but didn’t know where to start or how to make one?

Well, CFUR Radio 88.7 FM, and the Community Arts Council of Prince George and District (CAC) have launched a new six-month program, called Culture Confluence, that will introduce local artists and cultural organizations to podcasting.

Culture Confluence will help them create about 14 podcasting episodes concerning the local arts and culture scene.

“This program is very much about shining a light on the rich diversity that exists in Prince George's social fabric,” says Ian Gregg, CFUR's station manager in a news release.

“The staff and volunteers at the station are excited to provide an accessible platform for individuals within the broader community to participate in the creation of podcasts to promote local arts and culture, and other initiatives that are working to improve our community.”

Those who participate in the creation of podcast episodes will get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the process involved in recording and editing episodes.

Podcast episodes will be broadcast on-air by CFUR and will also be available in digital format from a podcasting streaming service.

“This is a unique opportunity for partnership between the CAC and CFUR in order to help create bridges between the UNBC community, our local arts and culture sector, and the Prince George community-at-large,” says Sean Farrell, executive director of the CAC, in the release.

“We are especially excited that there will be a cross-generational impact by having people from various age brackets working alongside the younger talent at CFUR. This will provide a unique learning and relationship-forming opportunity for everyone involved.”

Funding for this program is provided by the City of Prince George, the Prince George Community Foundation and the CAC.
