Are your doors and windows locked?
You might want to double check because Prince George RCMP say over the last week they’ve responded to four confirmed residential break-and-enters where the suspects entered through an open or unlocked window.
The first incident occurred during the afternoon on Friday (June 7) at a residence on the 2900-block, 20 Avenue.
The suspects gained access gained through a second-floor window and jewelry was taken.
The next day on Saturday (June 8), frontline officers were called to a residence on 1400-block, 20 Avenue for a break-and-enter that occurred sometime earlier in the day.
The suspects gained entry through an open ground level window and a 32-inch television was stolen.
Then just after 8 p.m. on Sunday (June 9), police received a report of a residential break and enter that occurred on the 1800-block, 11 Ave. where entry was gained through an open window sometime earlier that evening. The suspects took jewelry in this instance.
The fourth instance occurred at about 6:30 p.m. yesterday (June 11).
Police were called to a break-and-enter at a home on the 1800-block, Tamarack Street.
The incident occurred at some point earlier in the day and entry was gained through an unlocked window. Various items were stolen including a laptop, 32-inch television, portable DVD player and frozen food.
Police say in one of the incidents above an alarm was in place but not activated.
Mounties are also reminding the public that if you find yourself a victim of a break and enter, do no touch anything and call police right away.
