The school board is back in action and has a lot to discuss at its regular public meeting tomorrow night (Jan.28) including some potential new classes and what to do with all of that money.

However, if you show up at the usual time 7 p.m. to see what’s happening in School District No. 57 you’ll be an hour late.

School board meetings have moved to a new time, starting an hour earlier at 6 p.m.; this will accommodate travel time for new MacKenzie and Robson Valley trustees.

A Hockey 12 course is being proposed by the Education Programs and Planning Committee, with input from Renzo Berra and Kap Manhas, two teachers at Prince George Secondary School (PGSS).

Each committee will also be discussing recommendations for the school district’s surplus. Some of the recommendations include:

  • Teaching and thinking and fostering innovation program,
  • Portable classroom replacement,
  • Healthy workplace culture and staff engagement,
  • Development of a district wide communication plan
  • Health and safety compliance.

To view the full agenda for more information on what will be discussed at the meeting, check out the school district’s website.

The regular public meetings are held at School District 57’s board room located at 2100 Ferry Ave.
