PHOTOS: Suspicious package near Costco forced Prince George RCMP to evacuate nearby businesses

There's no public safety risks following an RCMP incident at Prince George's Costco today (June 10).

Cpl. Sonja Blom confirms Mounties responded to reports of a suspicious package found along Range Road near the Husky gas station after 12 p.m.

For safety reasons, she explains businesses in the area were forced to evacuate.

Those businesses have since re-opened, the package did not pose any threat and the situation has been resolved.

No other details are being provided at this time.

Police are wrapping up its investigation into an incident near Prince George's Costco earlier today (June 10).

Shortly after 1 p.m., RCMP closed off the wholesale store's parking lot due to an ongoing situation on Range Road, but has since been resolved.

Officers also closed off the Husky gas station as part of the investigation.

There are no further details on the incident at this time.

Prince George RCMP are responding to an apparent incident near Costco this afternoon (June 10).

According to Mounties, the situation is developing on Range Road by the wholesale store and the Husky gas station.

Residents are being asked to avoid the area as the timeline to reopen is unknown.

She says police have blocked off almost the entire Costco parking lot.
