Mounties in Prince George have arrested a 34-year-old man while also seizing large amounts of drugs and cash during a local traffic stop and two search warrants.

Cpl. Craig Douglass says on Friday (Feb. 14), the RCMP's Street Crew Unit conducted a traffic stop on Foothills Boulevard as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation that started last year.

A man was arrested and found to be in possession of roughly $10,000 in cash.

Police also seized the car as part of the investigation.

The Street Crew Unit also obtained and executed a pair of search warrants North Ospika Boulevard and Orbin Place.

During the raids, a large amount of methamphetamine and cocaine were seized alongside drug trafficking paraphernalia and what is believed to be more than $50,000 in cash.

The man arrested was held in police custody for investigation, but later released pending further investigation and charge approval from the Federal Prosecution Service of Canada.
