Prince George RCMP seize $1 million in cannabis, cash and guns

Two people were arrested at the time of the seizure

Police have arrested two people in Prince George and have seized a large amount of cash, cannabis, guns and ammunition.

On Saturday, March 23, members of the Prince George RCMP’s Street Crew Unit executed a search warrant under the Cannabis Act at a home in an undisclosed location in the city.

Police say a man and woman were at the residence during the search of the property.

The street crew found more than 55 kilograms (121 pounds) of dried cannabis, a significant amount of other forms of cannabis products, several firearms, ammunition, and more than $550,000 in cash, totalling approximately $1 million.

"This is a substantial seizure resulting from the investigation of persons previously not known to police," says Insp. Shaun Wright in a news release.

"Our officers will continue to target those persons that do not abide by Canadian law, including the Cannabis Act."

The RCMP says the suspects were released without charge at this time, pending the completion of the investigation and charge approval from the Federal Prosecution Service of Canada.
