Social media has helped Prince George Mounties find multiple stolen items.

Cpl. Craig Douglass says on Sunday (July 7), an officer from the Prince George RCMP was watching social media and came across a post about a suspicious camp next to Shesta Lake off Blackwater Road near the city.

The officer saw a vehicle recently reported stolen in some of the photos.

Upon driving to the rural area, the officer found the camp in question but vacant.

The Ford pickup truck was confirmed as stolen from Clear Lake Road during the morning of June 30, 2019.

The officer also checked the computer for a tent trailer on the property and found it also to be stolen from Quaw Avenue in Prince George of June 16, 2019.

Douglass adds the tent was in the process of being painted.

The truck, tent trailer, and a homemade cargo trailer were seized as part of the investigation.

Prince George RCMP is continuing the investigation to identify the person(s) involved.

If you have any information that can help identify those involved, you are asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.
