Mounties in Prince George are investigating after a morning downtown stabbing today (June 4).

Cpl. Craig Douglass says police received a report at roughly 7:30 a.m. from a member of the public that a man, who was bleeding, may have been stabbed.

The incident was at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Queensway.

When officers arrived, the man injured was being attended to by bystanders that had stopped to help.

Paramedics then arrived and provided medical help for the victim.

Douglass says the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Investigators currently have reason to believe an altercation happened between a group of people in the area, possibly near the corner of Second Avenue and Dominion Street.

Douglass says the incident does appear to be targeted.

Investigators are continuing to investigate and are also actively looking for those involved.
