Prince George RCMP arrest woman after Second Avenue stabbing

A Prince George woman was treated for non-life threatening injuries after a weekend downtown stabbing.

On Sunday morning (March 15) at about 10:10 a.m., RCMP received a report of a stabbing that had occurred on 1200-block, 2 Ave. in Prince George.

Frontline officers attended the area immediately. 

The suspect was located and arrested near Fourth Avenue and Queensway less than 10 minutes after the initial call to police.

Mandy Kathaleen Trahan, a 28-year-old woman from Kelowna, BC, has been charged by the BC Prosecution Service with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The adult female victim was treated and transported to hospital by paramedics. 

Injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The Trahan was held in custody and will be attending court later today, pending charge approval by the BC Prosecution Service.
