Prince George RCMP arrest man for threatening people with a knife

Prince George RCMP are reporting they have arrested a man for uttering threats and for possession of  a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

On Tuesday Sept. 5, just before 9 a.m., police responded to a complaint of a man threatening people with a knife in the area of First Avenue and George Street.

Mounties say they quickly found a man matching the description of the suspect.

He was then arrested for uttering threats and for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and was subsequently transported to Prince George RCMP detachment cells.

“The suspect is known to our Downtown Safety Unit for similar offences. He was released on an undertaking with conditions and will attend court at a future date,” stated Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

The investigation is ongoing. No injuries were reported to police in this incident.
