There’s a new play space open at PG City Funpark, located at 3420 Opie Cres.
The facility features more than 80 arcade games and a beach-themed playground for kids to explore.
“It took some time to get it open, and it really came together in the last couple of weeks,” said Leo Li of PG City Funpark.
The space held a soft opening, with its grand opening set for this weekend, July 4 to 6.
“There are over 80 arcade games, including racing games, sports games and lots of family-friendly options,” said Li.
Fan favourites include claw machines that dispense instant prizes, while other games offer tickets that can be collected and redeemed for prizes.
“We’ve got a whole row of claw machines, neon lights, great music — and most importantly, the prizes inside. We choose them very carefully, and they’re the best in Canada,” Li said.
“We have a customer-first mentality and want people to have a great experience. We want everyone to win something — especially the kids.”
The beach-themed playground is open to all ages and is designed for parents to play alongside their children.
“The structure is big enough to hold even adults,” said Li, though he noted it’s best suited for children aged two to 12.
“It’s a place where kids can explore, climb and slide,” he said. “There are big ball pits and bouncy castles, and safety has been considered, with soft padding throughout.”
Li said feedback from the community has been positive so far.
“We want people to feel like this is something unique and different in town,” he said.
During the grand opening, visitors can enjoy 20 per cent bonus game credits when they load a card, and spin to win prizes all weekend.
