A local man has won $500,000 playing the Lotto 6/49 Extra.

Michael Sonnenberg bought the winning ticket for the Oct. 29 draw at the Real Canadian Superstore Gas Bar in Prince George.

"I feel like I'm in a dream," Sonnenberg said in a B.C. Lottery Corporation press release issued Tuesday. "I can't stop singing, 'If I had a Million Dollars'"

Sonnenberg said the win is life changing and will allow him to pursue his passions.

"This is really amazing," he said. "Now I can find a job I truly love."

To win $500,000 on the Extra, the ticket must match all four numbers drawn. The odds of that occurring are slightly less than one in 3.8 million, according to BCLC.
