Prince George man facing armed robbery charges for ice cream theft

A lone male suspect was reported to have brandished a knife at staff of the business and then fled on foot with a small amount of ice cream.

A 24-year-old local man is facing charges after an incident last week at a 20th Avenue business.

Shortly before noon on Thursday, March 17, Prince George RCMP received a report of an armed robbery at a business in the 1800 block of 20th Avenue.

A lone male suspect was reported to have brandished a knife at staff of the business and then fled on foot with a small amount of ice cream. A suspect was located walking down a nearby alley and was arrested without incident.

Shane Coulas of Prince George has been charged with robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failure to comply with a probation order. He remains in custody and his next scheduled court appearance is April 4.
