Recently, Prince George was referred to as the 'Armpit of B.C.' by a Vancouver radio station.

Now, the city has been mentioned in international media as well.

During an interview with the Metro newspaper out of the UK, Michael Palin gave mention to Prince George.

Palin, best known for his part of the Monty Python comedy team and his travel documentaries, was asked what was the worst place he had ever been to.

He responded, "There's a place in Canada called Prince George, which smells of drains. It's because of the paper-making plant in town. Everyone said they'd got used to it but I'm not sure how the tourist board deals with it - 'drain lovers come to Prince George.'"

The comment was noticed by Harj Dhaliwal from Wolverhampton in England, with relatives in P.G.

The Metro is available for free to commuters in 16 of Britain's major cities.
