The Prince George Fire Department successfully rescued a person and their dog trapped on a ledge on the bank of LG Gunn Trail.

Around 10 p.m. last night (July 24), seven firefighters located a dog owner who had attempted to rescue their dog that had fallen over the edge of the embankment and had fractured its leg.

The dog owner became trapped after sliding down the embankment but did not sustain any injuries. Prince George Fire Rescue then completed a technical rope rescue to recover the owner and the dog.

The dog was then transported for veterinary care.
