Update: Prince George ERT officers sent to Williams Lake firearm incident

RCMP have made two arrests and seized two guns in connection to a firearms incident.

Prince George RCMP emergency response team (ERT) officers were deployed to Williams Lake on Thursday morning, following a firearms incident.

At 2:36 a.m. on Thursday, Williams Lake RCMP were called to the scene of an incident involving a firearm. A man and a woman were arrested in connection with the incident.

Police set up containment around a home in the 1200-block of Pigeon Avenue, where it was believed others involved in the incident were hiding. ERT officers from Prince George were sent to the town, roughly 240 km south of Prince George.

As of Thursday afternoon, police had cleared the scene on Pigeon Avenue. Two firearms were seized in connection to the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing and RCMP are not releasing any further information at this time.
