UPDATE: Prince George's Highway 16, Ferry Avenue intersection all clear after four-hour traffic hazard

A busy Prince George intersection is now smooth sailing after an earlier traffic hazard.

Mounties say the crossing of Highway 16 and Ferry Avenue is all clear following a partial closure that lasted four hours.

A tractor-trailer lost its load after 1:30 p.m. today (Oct. 1), causing traffic delays and resulted in a long cleanup of the area.

Police are thanking local commuters for their patience.

2:15 p.m.

Prince George drivers are asked to avoid Highway 16 and Ferry Avenue following an incident this afternoon (Oct. 1). 

Shortly after 1:30 p.m., RCMP received a report of a traffic hazard at the intersection, where frontline officers found that a tractor-trailer unit lost a load.

No injuries have been reported, but Mounties say cleanup is expected to take hours.  

Police say an update will be available once the scene has been cleared.
