Bike to Work Week or Go by Bike Week begins today!
To make travelling by bike even easier, the City of Prince George and B.C. Transit are offering participating cyclists free rides between May 27 and June 2.
In order to ride the Prince George Transit System for free, Bike to Work Week participants must use the bus bike racks or show their bike helmet when boarding the bus.
B.C. Transit buses are equipped with bike racks on the front of the bus, making it easier for cyclists to combine the two forms of sustainable transportation when travelling longer distances, or when the weather changes throughout the day and makes cycling back home less desirable than it was in the morning.
Take note that bike racks on community buses and smaller fleet buses such as route 91, cannot be used after dark since the bikes obstruct the headlights.
If you want to learn more about taking your bike on the bus, you can check out B.C. Transit’s website.
