A break and enter suspect who was caught by a homeowner trying to break into his shed has received his punishment.

Prince George resident Jody Visser-Hayne has received 43 days in jail while also being sentenced to one year of probation.

Prince George Mounties say on Oct. 31 they received a report from a neighbour, who heard a scuffle at around 8:15 a.m. of a break and enter in progress on Moyie Street. When police arrived on scene, they saw the homeowner had apprehended the suspect.

A small quantity of drugs was located on the suspect, according to police.
