Sarah Beaudry is continuing her quest for a podium finish on the world stage.

On Thursday (Jan. 24), in Italy, the 24-year-old was in the 7.5km race at the BMW World Cup, sprinting to 40th place out of 94 international competitors.

The Prince George product only missed one target out of 10 in the shooting portion of the race, and crossed the finish line 1:33 behind first place.

She is one of three Canadians that qualify for the 10km pursuit alongside Rosanna Crawford (23rd, 58 seconds behind first) and Megan Bankes (26th, 1:05 behind first).

That competition takes place on Saturday at 4:30 a.m. Pacific time and if the Olympian does well, she could get into the 12.5km Mass Start on Sunday.

Beaudry finished 29th in the individual race at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics last February.

She was originally selected as an alternate for Team Canada.
