Prince George will be covered in yellow for the month of April to celebrate the Canadian Cancer Society's Daffodil month.
Since the 1950s, bright yellow daffodils have arrived in communities across Canada to mark the month.
"The City of Prince George is proud to proclaim April as Daffodil Month," said Mayor Shari Green. "We encourage all citizens in the city to show support and wear a daffodil pin."
The Canadian Cancer Society is a national community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is to eradicate cancer and improve the lives of those living with cancer.
Through public support, on average, the Society invests $48 million in cancer research each year, delivering support through information services, camps for kids and patient lodges throughout B.C., including the soon-to-be-opened Kordyban Lodge and the Volunteer Driver and Freemasons Cancer Car Program.
Everyone is encouraged to purchase a daffodil pin and wear it proudly for the month of April. People can always visit www.fightback.ca to attach a virtual daffodil to their Facebook or Twitter profile.
The pins are available at various locations throughout Prince George and cut daffodils will be available at Costco, Walmart, Pine Centre Mall and Save-on Foods at Spruceland, College Heights, and Hart highway.
