A 57-year-old man was arrested and 585 "large, healthy" marijuana plants were seized Wednesday from an outdoor grow-op about 30 kilometres northwest of Quesnel, North District RCMP Cst. Lesley Smith said.
The plants were found in a heavily wooded area off the Blackwater Road.
"We are asking outdoor enthusiasts who may be out exploring on their ATVs or hiking in unchartered areas to be aware of any suspicious vehicles parked on remote trails or service roads," Smith said.
"If you do come across something suspicious or locate an outdoor marihuana grow operation please note down the GPS coordinates, and report that information to police or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers."
Information leads to the location of an outdoor marihuana grow operation can lead to a cash reward through Crime Stoppers, which can be reached at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
The suspect will make his first appearance in Quesnel provincial court on Dec. 11.
