A 26-year-old woman is facing possible criminal charges after allegedly impersonating a B.C. post-secondary student in order to write an exam for her.

Police were called to the Simon Fraser University (SFU) campus in Burnaby just before 12:30 p.m. last Thursday (Dec. 12), according to RCMP.

Officials at the university alleged a woman had been caught using forged documents to take an exam for a student, police said.

The 26-year-old was taken into custody, according to police, and now faces charges for possession of forged documents.

She has since been released on a promise to appear.

SFU sent out a letter to students about the incident Tuesday.

The letter alleges the suspect had attempted to write the exam for the student in exchange for money.
