Poll takers not confident P.G. ready for wildfires

During the last Citizen poll, we asked "is Prince George adequately protected from and prepared for a wildfire that could threaten the city?" It seems readers who participated in the poll think not.

During the last Citizen poll, we asked "is Prince George adequately protected from and prepared for a wildfire that could threaten the city?"

It seems readers who participated in the poll think not.

"No, most people don't know what to do if they had to evacuate suddenly," got 42 per cent and a total of 329 votes, while coming in at 35 per cent and 279 votes was "no, there are too many properties, including UNBC, that are surrounded by trees."

The two no's were followed with "yes, the work done for the Cariboo evacuees shows we can handle anything," with 13 per cent and 103 votes, while "yes, a good job was done removing all the beetle-killed trees from public land," trailed with 10 per cent and 81 votes.

There was a total of 792 votes. Remember, this is not a scientific poll.

Next poll question is "do you think it was the right move for Christy Clark to resign as leader of the B.C. Liberals?"
