Police on Thursday uncovered two explosive devices as well as illegal weapons and drugs and stolen property after executing a Criminal Code search warrant on a residence on Boyd Street.

Four adult males and an adult female were in the residence at the time. The search of the property revealed a stolen vehicle in the parking lot as well as a prohibited weapon, ammunition, gun parts and a supply of fentanyl.

Once the two homemade explosive devices were discovered, the scene was secured by police and neighbours were notified. The RCMP’s Explosive Disposal Unit will go to the residence today to remove and destroy the devices.

It is the same residence where police arrested priority offender Colin Michaud Durrand on Monday.  The five occupants present on Thursday were released at the scene without legal process, pending further investigation and a charge assessment from the BC Prosecution Service.

The investigation continues. Anyone who might have information useful to the police is asked to call 250-561-3300. You can anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca to be eligible for a cash reward if the information leads to an arrest, seizure of illicit drugs or recovery of stolen property.
