Investigators on the Highway of Tears case say they will "announce a significant development" this morning. Police from the Operation E-PANA office (the RCMP name for the collected Highway of Tears files) will step up to the microphone at 11:15 a.m. to explain.
"Senior officers from Project E-PANA and the B.C. RCMP, along with a family member, and a representative from the United States are scheduled to speak at the news conference," said a prepared statement from the RCMP. "Police will also be issuing a plea for assistance from British Columbians, Canadians and Americans."
The E-PANA operation involves 18 cases of missing or murdered women, most of whom are connected to the Highway 16 corridor centred by Prince George.
