A 37-year-old local man was arrested and more than $200,000 worth of illicit drugs were seized from two homes this week, Prince George RCMP said Friday.
It said the man was apprehended Wednesday in a parking lot on Ospika Boulevard after the detachment's street crew unit found him in possession of heroin, cocaine and a small amount of cash.
Evidence obtained during the arrest led RCMP to execute a search warrant on a 1600-block Harper Drive home and then on a Mullet Crescent home.
In all, over 500 grams of methamphetamine, more than 200 grams of cocaine, approximately 400 grams of heroin and nearly 250 grams of what's suspected to be ecstasy were seized from the two homes, RCMP said.
A loaded shotgun, the man's vehicle and a "large amount" of cash were also seized.
"This is exceptional work by our street crew unit to, yet again, rid this community of a significant amount of drugs and a firearm" Inspector Shaun Wright said.
"We are committed to continued enforcement efforts directed at individuals involved in gang activity and the drug trade, in order to keep our community safe."
The suspect, whose name was not provided because charges have not yet been approved, was released on a promise to appear for court on Feb. 14, 2017.
