Police seek suspect in bar stabbing

Police are looking for a man suspected of stabbing another man at the Riverstone Bar and Grill early Sunday morning. At approximately 1:30 a.m. a 50-year-old man was stabbed once in the chest at the pub on 15th Avenue.

Police are looking for a man suspected of stabbing another man at the Riverstone Bar and Grill early Sunday morning.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. a 50-year-old man was stabbed once in the chest at the pub on 15th Avenue. The man was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of Northern B.C. where he was treated for serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Police are searching for a suspect described as a Caucasian man in his 30s, approximately five-foot-eight inches tall and was wearing a gray hoodie. RCMP are warning the public that the suspect should be considered dangerous and should not be approached.

Police believe the stabbing was a result of an altercation between the men earlier that night.

The owner of the Riverstone Bar and Grill could not be reached for comment as of press time.
