RCMP advise that a man known as a high-risk sex offender who skipped out of a halfway house in Vancouver may be heading to the Prince George or Fort St. John area.

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Clifford Joseph, 26, who's past offences range from aggravated sexual assault to kidnapping and unlawful confinement.

Prince George RCMP members have been alerted and are on the watch for Joseph who spent time here in April at the Prince George Activators Society transition home, said Cst. Lesley Smith, media communications officer.

The aboriginal man, who has a history of drugs and alcohol, is described as five foot, nine inches tall, and weighing 160 pounds with black hair, brown eyes, acne scars on his face, and tattoos of "hi" on his right hand and a squiggly line design on his right upper arm.

Police, who say Joseph violated his release conditions by skipping curfew at the halfway house, are asking anyone who may see him to call the nearest police detachment. In Prince George call 250-561-3300 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
