A 24-year-old Prince George man was found in possession of two pellet hand guns when RCMP responded Wednesday morning to a report of a man walking along the 2100 block of Norwood Street with a hand gun.

Called to the scene at 7:34 a.m., police spotted the suspect within a few minutes leaving a mobile home park near the corner of Strathcona and Norwood and he was quickly apprehended when he tried to flee through a nearby yard.

A police service dog attended, but was not used.

RCMP also found a warrant for the man's arrest had been issued for failing to appear in court last week on a shoplifting charge from an alleged April incident.

Further charges are not being considered at this time, RCMP said.
