A Prince George RCMP raid of a 500-block Douglas Street residence late last week resulted in the seizure of a bevy of loaded firearms along with ammunition and drugs.

A 17-year-old girl and two men, aged 19 and 25, who are known to police and known to be associated with the Game Tight Soldiers gang were arrested and are facing drugs and weapons charges.

RCMP Drug Task Force, Crime Reduction Team, Downtown Enforcement Unit, General Duty members and Emergency Response Team located two loaded handguns, a loaded SKS assault rifle, a loaded high-powered rifle, a loaded sawed-off shotgun and a 12 gauge shotgun.

They also seized large amounts of ammunition, cash and crack cocaine with a street value of about $4,400, said RCMP Cst. Lesley Smith, media liaison officer.

"A number of firearms were removed from the hands of this criminal organization. These weapons would ultimately have been used to create more violence in our community, but as a result of this substantial seizure we have prevented these weapons from being used in a violent offence such as another shooting."

Prince George RCMP and the Prince George Community are working together to send a message loud and clear that gangs are not welcome in our neighborhood.

"It appears that the gangs and their associates running their drug operations are still not getting the hint so we will continue to target these groups and their shacks and tell them in person to "Get Out."
