Vanderhoof RCMP and the North District Major Crime Unit are still trying to piece together what led to an 18-year-old getting fatally shot.
On Dec. 20, the female Vanderhoof teenager was rushed to the University Hospital of Northern B.C. with a life-threatening gunshot wound. She underwent surgery, but later succumbed to her injuries.
"The North District Major Crime Unit is currently investigating this tragic event," said North District RCMP spokesperson Const. Lesley Smith. "RCMP are in the infancy stages of the investigation and an update will be provided once more has been learned."
