Prince George RCMP, CRIME Task Force and North District Drug Section have busted a huge marijuana grow operation on Horrocks Road south of the city.

On Dec. 9 police seized 2,298 marijuana plants in various growth stages from three separate growing rooms along with $4,000 in cash and equipment used to run the operation.

It was also determined by police that the grow operation was being run with the use of a stolen overhead electrical transformer and there was a theft of BC Hydro taking place.

One adult male, who provided an address from the Lower Mainland of BC, was arrested at the residence. Charges of production of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and possession of property obtained by crime and theft of telecommunication service under the Criminal Code, will be forwarded to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada for charge approval.
