Police believe they've identified the Masich Place Stadium vandals. "Yes we do have names and we are doing the work to determine what should happen with that," said Prince George RCMP spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass.

Police believe they've identified the Masich Place Stadium vandals.

"Yes we do have names and we are doing the work to determine what should happen with that," said Prince George RCMP spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass. "Through some investigative techniques and through the media as well, we were able to gather information that led to some particular people."

However police are are not disclosing the names or details of the persons of interest at this time.

"There are still things that have to be completed in the investigation," said Douglass. "But once that is done then do we pursue Criminal Code charges? Do we use an alternative justice method? How do you best deal with the events and the people involved?

"We have a long way to go before we make those decisions, but -- and it might be making the best out of a bad situation -- but we feel confident a lot of positives are going to come out of this."

Investigators sifted through clues left at the scene of last weekend's graffiti spray session with school district officials, youth and members of the Kelly Road secondary school's football program (referred to in the vandalism).

Members of the football program came forward to help with the investigation and the clean up efforts.

Program head Ryan Bellamy, also the president of Prince George Minor Football and vice president of B.C. Community Football, volunteered the team to help clean up the mess.

"We discussed it with some kids who knew something about it [the vandalism], and we passed that on to the RCMP," Bellamy said.

He had hardly made his offer to the City of Prince George to share the cleanup duties when Duchess Park's team made the same offer out of solidarity.

"We have talked to a few people in the community, now, about joining us," Bellamy said. "Decorum Painting has talked to us about helping, and they are a pretty great sponsor for football in town. We have touched based with the city and let them know we want to talk to them as soon as they have a plan and the weather lets them get in there to do some work. We're waiting to hear."
