A joint effort by the local RCMP and Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement unit caught more than 200 road infractions last week.
Five RCMP traffic services officers and five CVSE officers paired up on the evenings of June 12 and 13 for an enforcement campaign.
In total, 229 charges and warnings were handed out to drivers, including:
135 vehicle defect violations
20 driver's licence-related violations
seven drug seizures
six vehicles without insurance
five criminal code charges
seven moving violations (speeding, stop signs, red lights, etc)
one 90-day immediate roadside prohibition
one 24-hour driving prohibition.
