Plane with mechanical issue lands safely at Prince George Airport

Emergency crews respond to distress call from crew of Central Mountain Air flight Wednesday morning

A plane operated by Central Mountain Air that was experiencing mechanical difficulty was diverted to Prince George Airport and landed safely at about 10 a.m. Wednesday.

A plane experiencing mechanical issue has landed safely at Prince George Airport.

Emergency personnel from Prince George Fire Rescue, B.C. Ambulance Service and Prince George RCMP were dispatched to the airport at about 9:40 a.m. Wednesday in response to a distress call received at the YXS flight control tower.

The plane, operated by Central Mountain Air, was diverted to Prince George when pilots on board learned of the mechanical problem.

“The Prince George Airport Authority emergency crews responded and our Emergency Operations Centre was initiated,” said PGAA spokesperson Lindsay Andreza.

“The aircraft landed without incident at 10 a.m.”

Prince George Fire Rescue crews were told to stand down once it became known the plane had landed safely.
