myPG Community Grants applications open for fall intake

Registered non-profits in the city have until Monday, Oct. 15 to put in their applications for the $114,563 the program has left to distribute in 2025

MyPG grant applications are now available for registered non-profits operating within the boundaries of the City of Prince George.

Applications for the City of Prince George’s myPG Community Grants are now open for the program’s fall cycle.

Until Monday, Oct. 15 at 4:30 p.m., registered non-profits can apply for up to $10,000 in funding toward their projects and events.

The program has two intakes — one in the spring and one in the fall. A newsletter sent out by the city on Monday, Sept. 2 said that of the $233,148 allocated to the program in 2025, there is $114,563 left to distribute.

To qualify, applicants must be registered non-profits operating within the boundaries of the City of Prince George.

While applicants can apply for both the spring and fall intakes, the applications must be for different projects.

The city also asks that the projects align with its strategic goals, which include fostering community pride, promoting health, strengthening social connections, encouraging participation in arts and culture, advancing equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility, encouraging environmental sustainability, and ensuring a healthy, safe and clean community.

Eligible expenses under the program include minor capital projects and purchases, administration fees up to 15 per cent of the total request, and fundraising projects — provided applicants can demonstrate that the grant will go toward organizing a community project or event, and not directing funds to another initiative.

The city states that myPG Community Grants cannot be used for funding for-profit businesses, ongoing operational expenses, projects that have already taken place, initiatives that duplicate existing projects or events, research, payment of city property taxes, professional development, travel, capital improvements to school property or regular sports activities and tournaments.

Funding also cannot be used to offset rental fees at city-owned facilities, as Prince George already provides discounted rates to eligible non-profits.

Applicants will be notified whether they have been successful within four to six weeks of the deadline.

Within 30 days of a project’s completion, organizations receiving grants must report certain information to the city.
