A provincial court judge has ordered a pit bull cross destroyed after it attacked a smaller dog and bit a man trying to break up the dog fight.

A provincial court judge has ordered a pit bull cross destroyed after it attacked a smaller dog and bit a man trying to break up the dog fight.

Judge Victor Galbraith ordered the dog named Kaos to be "humanely destroyed" as requested by a lawyer representing the City of Prince George.

According to information presenting in court, the incident occurred at an apartment complex near the intersection of First Avenue and Ospika Boulevard. The pit bull is accused of attacking a smaller a dog in a parking lot and refusing to release the animal. A man who intervened was bitten and received other injuries as a result of the altercation.

The owner of the pit bull did not appear in court to contest the order to have the animal killed.
