PHOTOS: Prince George captures uniquely luminescent summer rainbows

Some even saw a double-rainbow to cap off the weekend

Undoubtedly, it’s been a weird summer season weather-wise for Prince George with more rain and clouds than sun and humidity.

However, in spite of the dreariness, Mother Nature has brought several rainbows in the last few weeks, but none, arguably, was as photo-worthy as the one that appeared Sunday night (July 12).

Local residents hopped out of their cars and homes or sat at their window sills to capture a bright, luminescent spectrum after rain poured on and off in various areas of the city.

The weather pattern even allowed some Prince Georgians to see a double-rainbow across the evening sky.

Coupled with fiery red clouds, the rainbow(s) were seen from College Heights through Pineview and Blackburn all the way to the Hart.

Environment Canada says the city can now expect the sun to shine all-day today (July 13) and tomorrow (July 14) with expected highs of 21 C.

The rain is predicted to return mid-week with a 60 per cent chance of showers by Wednesday night (July 15).
