PHOTOS: City of Prince George distributes more than $130K in grants to 30 organizations

Formal ceremony saw Mayor Lyn Hall, councillors present cheques

As a way to reward local organizations and the work done to unite Prince George, the city held a grant ceremony today (Nov. 25).

In total, $130,865 was divided and distributed to 30 non-profits and community organizations to help fund ongoing projects and/or events taking place in 2020 that help promote the northern capital, bring residents together, celebrate diversity, or help those struggling in day-to-day life.

“It’s about organizations that work diligently in the community and provide services really that, and I know it’s very cliche-ish, but it makes the city what it is, and it gives other folks an opportunity to participate and I want to thank you all on behalf of council for the work you do,” said Mayor Lyn Hall in council chambers to the representatives from the recipients.
