PG polls from the federal election

Elections Canada has made public the final vote count for the federal election. Conservative MP Bob Zimmer was reelected to Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies with 52.5 per cent of the vote. His next closest was Liberal Matt Shaw with 24.

Elections Canada has made public the final vote count for the federal election.

Conservative MP Bob Zimmer was reelected to Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies with 52.5 per cent of the vote. His next closest was Liberal Matt Shaw with 24.9 per cent followed by NDP Kathi Dickie with 15.5 per cent.

In Zimmer's riding 52,056 of the eligible 78,250 voters showed up to vote on Oct. 19, or 66.5 per cent.

Todd Doherty won Cariboo- Prince George for the first time with 36.6 per cent of the vote compared to Liberal Tracy Calogheros, who took 31.5 per cent. NDP's Trent Derrick was next in line with 25.8 per cent.

That riding brought out 67.8 per cent of voters, just under the national average.

The Canada-wide voter turnout for 2015 was 68.3 per cent, up from 61.1 per cent in 2011 and 58.8 per cent in 2008.

Elections Canada produces poll-by-poll results that show the ballot breakdown in each of Prince George's ridings: Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies and Cariboo- Prince George.
