A motorist was trapped inside a rolled vehicle, after a crash Tuesday morning on a remote stretch of local highway.
The driver was removed from the vehicle by patient extrication specialists from the Fort George Highway Rescue Department (FGHRD) called in to help by the Hixon Volunteer Fire Department.
According to FGHRD spokesman Dave Townsend, the callout happened at about 6:20 a.m. from the vicinity of Colebank Road on Highway 97 about halfway between Prince George and Quesnel.
One vehicle with one occupant was all that was involved. Once extricated from the twisted form of the vehicle, the patient was transferred by ambulance to university hospital in Prince George with unknown injuries.
The probable cause of the crash and the identity of the injured driver were not disclosed.
